Dauin Dive Itinerary: How to Plan 5 to 7 Days of Shore Diving

Planning a dive trip to Dauin is easier than most divers expect. Because we dive straight from our own beach at E-Fun Dive Resort, your Dauin dive itinerary is shaped by your energy, the conditions and what you want to see, not by a boat timetable. Here is how our team suggests building a trip of five to seven days.
Why shore entry changes how you plan your Dauin dive itinerary
The protected Dauin marine sanctuary sits right in front of our resort, so you walk in from the beach, dive, and walk out again. There is no departure time to catch. You can add another dive in the same area when you feel like it, or skip one and rest. It also means you can return to a spot you liked instead of moving on to a new one every day.
Days one and two: settle in and ease into the water
Give yourself a relaxed start. After you arrive and check in, tell our dive team about your experience, the date of your last dive and any gear you want to rent or check. An easy first dive in the sanctuary is a good way to get your buoyancy and weighting right before you start looking for anything small. Dauin is known for its black sand and macro life, so slow, close-up diving rewards you more here than covering distance.
Days three to five: go slow and look closely
This is the core of a Dauin dive itinerary. The area is known for muck diving, where small and well-camouflaged creatures live on sand and rubble. Our guides know the sanctuary well and can point out subjects that are easy to miss. If you take photos, plan more than one dive in the same area, because light, current and animal behaviour change from one dive to the next. Season matters too, so look at our month-by-month guide to when to visit Dauin when you choose your dates.
Build in a rest day
Many divers add a surface day around the middle of the trip. Rest between dive days, swim in the pool, go through your photos or take a short trip into nearby Dumaguete. If you would like to add a day trip beyond the house reef, such as Apo Island, ask our team when you book, as the season and conditions affect what is possible.
Days six and seven: return to your favourites
Use the last days to go back to the places that gave you your best encounters. Plan your final dive with your flight in mind: follow your dive computer and your training agency’s guidance on how long to wait between your last dive and flying.
Practical tips for planning a Dauin dive trip
Dauin is about 20 minutes south of Dumaguete on Negros Island, and our team can help arrange airport pickup. Bring your certification card and logbook. If you are travelling in a busy period, book your room and dive days early. Tell us ahead of time about any dietary needs so we can plan with you.
Rest well between dives
After a day in the water, you can rinse off, eat, relax by the pool and be back at the beach whenever you are ready. Our guests’ reviews earned E-Fun Dive Resort the Booking.com 2026 Traveller Review Award, and we are grateful to everyone who took the time to write one.
